Pregnancy Weight Gain and Goals

I am starting this pregnancy out 31 pounds lighter than when I started out my pregnancy with Nisee.  I am very happy about that and I am hoping to stay with in the 25-35 pounds they say women should gain.  Technically since my BMI is considered overweight I should only gain 15 - 25 but that's crap in my opinion and personally if I can keep it around 35lbs then I will be doing good!

I did well with Nisee and only gained around 25 lbs going into my 8th month and then I BLEW UP.  I gained 15 more lbs in the next 2 months.  Of course I was swelling like crazy and my bestie Brittany is a sweetie and says it was because of that but I looked HUGE and was HUGE! The week after I delivered her I was weighed at the doctor's office and I actually had only gained 10 lbs that I didn't lose after having her. (maybe there was something to what Britt was saying after all!)  Then I sat at home with her for 8 weeks after a c-section and gained back almost 20 lbs.  I was able to lose that 20 and keep it off but I couldn't get past that until this summer when I finally got back to pre-pregnancy weight and then some for a total of 47 pounds gone.  I was the smallest I had been since before Chad and I started dating and I was happy!

So I am just hoping that that this time I can do better and not gain 30 lbs of actual weight.  It has been a hard time so far though and I think I have already gained a pound or 2.  I am still walking and trying to stay active but I am SO TIRED and my back has already started hurting just like with Nisee.  We will see what happens though.  I went and got me some healthy snacks and I am going to try to watch to make sure I don't go too crazy with my cravings.  But so far this pregnancy I have been SO HUNGRY!  I mean I have tried to make sure I am eating just the 300 or so extra calories a pregnant woman needs but then my belly is growling and I am really hungry.  I have been drinking 84 ounces of water a day as well as my bad Dr. Pepper.  I can't quit caffeine cold turkey because that would be BAD!   I have limited myself to 2 - 12 ounce cans per day so it's not too bad.  And I will randomly have some OJ or Chocolate Milk in the morning but its not consistent.  I am trying to make sure I'm not eating because I am thirsty but I think I am getting lots of fluids so I don't think it is that.  Oh well, who knows, right?

I am just going to try to make sure that I am doing all I can to be somewhat healthy and not gain too much!  After thursday I will be taking my 6 weeks picture.  I took a 6 weeks picture with Nisee and I am going to try to take pics at the same time this pregnancy too so keep a look back for those!

Is Baby Pangan #2 a girl or a boy?!

We were curious as to what everyone thinks so we added a poll to the left side of the blog!  Please check it out and vote.  When I was pregnant with Nisee, we found out that she was a girl when I was 17 weeks along.  I will be 17 weeks on May 12th and I am off work already on May 13th for Nisee's Birthday so I am going to try to schedule the anatomy ultrasound on May 13th!  So I set the poll up to end at 8 am that day and that means you have until then to vote!  So Get Voting!

Our Family is Growing!

I guess I should start by saying this was a surprise and it wasn't all at the same time.  Chad and I had decided to add to our family but we were planning more for a few months from now but apparently God had other plans in mind and we got pregnant a lot quicker than we imagined!

I felt something was off and so I decided to take a test (I got the early kind that can tell up to 5 days before) Saturday Feb 5, 2011 and it came back positive but it was very faint but still there.  Chad and I were kind of in disbelief so I took the next test a few hours later and of course it came back positive too! So I am starting to believe it but still not really because I had read about chemical pregnancies and so I still wasn't sure.  So we went and got another box of tests so I could take 1 first thing in the morning because that is the best time to take them.  So SuperBowl Sunday rolled around and it was time for two more tests! LOL Sure enough I took both tests that day and they came back just like the tests from Saturday positive but very light.

I was off Monday Feb 7th for my Birthday!  YES Happy Birthday to me... talk about a great Birthday Present!  Brittany and Brayden were comeing to visit and have lunch for my birthday and just because that's what besties do! I was still not really believing that I was pregnant and no one could talk me down.  My cycle is so crazy that I am never really sure when I should start even if I track it I can't keep up because it changes all the time.  I was still pretty sure this time that I wasn't close enough for these tests to be right.  Or maybe I was just crazy and wouldn't listen to anyone.  Chad and Britt were telling me I was and that you can't fake 4 tests taken over 2 days.  BUT stubborn me went and got another box of tests and took 1 more and of course positive.  So I finally called my doctor.  They said I had to come in and have them do a test and then they would schedule my 1st visit.  Since Brittany was here she said would watch Nisee for me while we went.

After lunch at Mi Pueblo.. Yes be jealous! HAHA  We went to Thomasville OB-GYN and they did a test which was also positive (and they don't use the early detection kind).  I asked the nurse about the fact that it was light and she said that as long as it was there then that meant I was pregnant and that until I was actually late that it wouldn't show up dark.  So as you can see in the picture there is one dark one.  I had one test left so on the 9th I decided to take a test to see it get dark.  Now I still didn't know when I was supposed to start though so I don't know why I decided to do it but it all turned out for the best because the test was very dark and it actually showed up the positive line before the test line. So maybe that means I was supposed to start on the 9th which would change my due date to a little earlier.

They currently have my EDD as Oct 20th but I will have a c-section earlier.  Usually they do the c-section at 39 weeks and if my EDD stays the same then that will be Oct 13th but everything is based off of the EDD of Oct 20th.  We are very excited and we are going to share our journey with you here on our blog.  When I was pregnant with Nisee we shared via our website but since we don't have that anymore we will use this. My 1st visit is March 4th, 2011 so look for another update around that time!
