My Baby isn't such a baby anymore!
So today Nisee started Pre-K or Preschool which ever you prefer. She is still attending First Baptist Learning Center but they have the Pre-K classes separate from the daycare classes and they are structured like an actual class versus a daycare room. She was really excited this morning when she got to put on her clothes and do her hair. Her favorite thing was her Disney Princess backpack! She insisted on taking her lunch bag even though she doesn't take her lunch now. We took a few pictures outside of the house this morning. She started a few days later because of our vacation.

Happy Valentines Day ... A little late
A lot of people don't like valentines day and it isn't my favorite holiday by any means but still I think it can be a fun holiday. I went to one of my favorite stores, The Dollar Tree, last week and I ran across some cute things for my girls! Nisee and (believe it or not) Lacee LOVE Disney Princesses and Tinkerbell. Lacee who is recently 16 months old will sit and watch Cinderealla and Tangled, pretty unheard of for a 16 month old. I found some great Princess Borders and Tinkerbell stuff from The Dollar Tree. So I decided to make a little basket for each of my Princesses! They had a great time opening their gifts! I think Lacee loved her Tinkerbell cup the most.
Chad and I don't go all out but we do usually get each other something small like a nice card and maybe some chocolate. I got the sweetest card and a Russel Stovers box of chocolates! Chad got a card and a snickers bar and a butterfinger, his two favorite candy bars! We were both happy! I don't ask for much but I wanted to go see Safe Haven, the new Nicholas Sparks movie, but Chad has to work all weekend now so no Josh Duhmel for me this weekend but maybe soon.
The one thing I don't remember about Valentines day is the massive amounts of candy that the kids get now. Nisee came home with a plastic shopping bag full of candy! Lacee got puffs and some goldfishes. I remember when we were in school we would make a folder out of construction paper and tape it to our desk and then we would get a bunch of valentines cards. They still get those but they all come with Candy now. We might have gotten a random sucker or two but nothing like these kids are getting. Nisee does not care very much for suckers but she will eat one every once in a while and she will NOT eat chocolate unless it is in the form of a chocolate chip cookie. So short of the gummies she got Chad and I now have about 15 suckers and a the equivalent of 3 candy bars of chocolate to either eat or throw away.
Valentine's day started out great but it didn't end that way. I found out around 6:45 that a man that I knew had passed away. I wasn't close to him but he was like an Uncle to my best friend and her sisters. I know that his passing is very hard on them and it makes my heart hurt for them. I wish there was something more I could do to ease their pain. I let them know that I am here if they need me and I am praying for God to provide them comfort during this time. He was a good man and he is living it up in heaven with their Dad! I just know it!
Then today we got the news that my mother in law, Mary, is going to have to put her dog, Jack, to sleep tomorrow. She found out that he has cancer and is losing blood from the tumors. He has been sick for a while and we knew it was going to happen at some point but it is always hard to lose a family member. Jack, who is a chow mix, is 15 which is pretty old for that breed. He has been there since I started dating Chad 8 years ago and he will be missed by all of us. The hardest part is trying to explain this to Nisee. She was only 1 when Mamaw passed and had just turned 2 when Papaw passed so we haven't really had to have this conversation with her. She is almost 4 now and she loves Jack and always has. Jack likes to bark and even when Nisee was a small baby and he would bark she would just laugh! We tried our best to explain that Jack is sick and that to get better he needs to go to heaven to be with Jesus and that when you go to heaven you don't get to come back. She said that Jack couldn't go and that he could just take his shots to feel better. We told her that the only way he could get better was to go to heaven. She is still a little young but I know when she goes to Grandma's and Jack isn't there that she is going to ask questions. I guess we will just have to see.
Wow, Now that I am a blubbering mess I am going to to post a few V Day Pics of the girls and I am going to be lazy and watch some of my shows!

Nisee's Surgery
On Saturday while we all went out to celebrate my 30th birthday Nisee and Lacee stayed at my parents. While there she was stopping breathing when she was sleeping. Now she had done this before but it was always associated with a cold and her nose was all runny so we always chalked it up to her trying to breath through her nose and she just couldn't. However this weekend she was all clear and was still stopping breathing. So Monday I called her ENT and they couldn't see her until Friday and I felt the fact that she was stopping breathing was more important and couldn't wait an entire week. So I had heard good things about PENTA and so I called them and they could see her at 10am the next morning. Dr. Scurry was great! He took one look at her tonsils and said they were enormous and that they needed to come out. He said he didn't like to do surgery as young as she is and that he could try some steroids but that he didn't think that it would make enough of an impact to prevent surgery for a lengthy period of time. He also said that if any of her adenoids had grown back he would remove that tissue as well. Her surgery was scheduled for the following Monday February 13th.
The day of surgery she went to Hawthorne Surgical and Dr. Scurry did the surgery. He had seen that her tubes from last June had come out already and so he was going to just take them out of the canal so that they wouldn't be obstructing any view of the ear. At her Pre-op appt. the PA said she thought there was some fluid but because of the tube it was hard to tell and Dr. Scurry was going to check on that as well. When he was in he removed her tonsils and there was some adenoid tissue he had to remove and he also put her 3rd set of tubes in. When he went in he saw that there was fluid in both ears and in the right ear it was the really thick kind and in the left it was clearer but he still felt that tubes should be inserted because it wouldn't make sense to risk it and then have to insert them again. So as he said it she got the works. The hardest part of surgery is when they wake up. Being so young they don't understand the disorientation. She actually did even better this time than she did the 1st 2 times she was put to sleep. The 1st time was the worst but that was because she was so young I think. She started out drinking really well and that was great news. She did have to stay in the hospital overnight for observation because of her age. She had an IV that was driving us all crazy. Since she had the surgery done at the outpatient center and needed to stay overnight she was transported via ambulance to Forsyth medical center pediatrics. She screamed until we got into the ambulance and then she was like hey we are going for a ride this is cool and she was fine until we got into the room and put her in the bed and then she started screaming again! Nisee was the only patient in the entire pediatric unit! The nurse said it was common because all the sick patients are sent to Brenners and they normally only see post op patients.
Nisee did a good job drinking and eating but she kept asking for stuff she couldn't have and her IV was driving her crazy. I didn't sleep much that night and she didn't either. However the next day she was allowed to have her IV removed and she perked up after that because she could move around. We were allowed to come home at 1:30pm that day. The doctor said that days 3-5 would be the worst! She started refusing to drink and eat. Oh and taking the pain medication was an major fight! It came to a point where we would have to force liquids in her but we were determined she wasn't going to get dehydrated. The nurse calling to check on her was really happy to hear us say that because them getting dehydrated is much worse than making them drink. Day 5 she started to really get back to her old self as far as her attitudes and actions.
As much as I hated to put her through another surgery it was well worth it. From the 1st night you could hear a difference. She didn't stop breathing at all that night. She was still a little stuff sounding from the swelling but by night 3 most of that was gone and now she sleeps as quite as Lacee does! It has changed her entire demeanor and she is so much happier and when she is resting she is really resting! We go back March 15th for a hearing check and a follow up appt for the tubes! Below are a few pictures from her stay in the hospital! I must say I was very happy with Forsyth and their care with Nisee! Now I am just waiting on the bills to start rolling in. Of course we couldn't do this last year when we had already met our deductible and coinsurance.

Lacee's Room Progress and a little of Nisee's Room too
We got a lot done this weekend in Lacee's room as well as got a few things done in Nisee's room too. We still have a long list of things to get done around the house but here are a few highlights of what all we got done this weekend.
I am sure we did more than that but well you get the point ... we did a lot! I didn't feel well today. I had a burst of energy this morning but then I started feeling really bad this afternoon and then late this evening I felt a little better. We had to get a lot done this weekend because Chad has to work all weekend next weekend! Here are some shots of what all we accomplished.
Well those are what we did today for the most part. I don't think you need pictures of the front porch and a clean kitchen! LOL Tomorrow is my doctors visit when I will schedule my c-section! I am super excited and another post will be coming soon with all that great information!
- Laundry (It's never ending but we got a lot done)
- Fixed front porch railing (got broke during a storm)
- Fixed front glass door (also got broke during a storm)
- Finished painting the trim in the alcove in Lacee's room
- We hung the letter for Lacee's name in her room
- I painted and hung a cross for Lacee (similar to the one Nisee has in her room)
- I hung the sign on her door that says Cupcake that I made
- Chad installed the blinds and curtain rods and I put up the curtains for Lacee's room
- We hung 6 shelves we have had for months in Nisee's Room
- Selected items for Lacee to be washed prior to going to the hospital
- Chad hung the cupcake wall hangers in Lacee's Room
- We cleaned the kitchen
- Chad organized part of the basement
I am sure we did more than that but well you get the point ... we did a lot! I didn't feel well today. Happy 4th of July!
We had a great long weekend! We spent Saturday at Chad's Mom's and we all enjoyed swimming in the pool! Nisee really loved it! Her puddle jumper was exactly what she needed and she was able to swim all over the place on her own! It was a great day!
Then Sunday we went to the New River to hang out with family and friends! We had a great time and Nisee really loved being in the river! I spent most of my day sitting in a chair by the river just watching everyone and it was awesome!
Today we spent most of the day being LAZY and we loved it! We went to dinner and to visit my Nanny Peg and Papaw Lester this evening and we got to see my cousin Scott and his wife Tracey that I haven't seen in so long that Chad had never met them. It was nice to see them and hear about their recent trip to Africa. We were going to go to fireworks in Mocksville but Nisee started getting fussy and tried and then I started not feeling so hot myself so we came on home. However we got to see a ton of fireworks all from our back deck. Our neighbors had to spend thousands of dollars on all these great fireworks! I know we (me and Chad) sure appreciate it. Nisee didn't care for the them too much and kept point at the door and saying "Inside...Inside"!
Over all it was a great weekend! Chad is still off tomorrow and he is going to enjoy a long day of mowing and house projects! What a great day off huh? I go back to work tomorrow and while I always love my time off at least I have a great job with a great company. I am kind of glad that we have had all this fun this weekend because it has made the time fly by. It is hard to believe that my next doctors appointment is already just 1 day away. After the last appointment went so well I am starting to get nervous about this one. This one is a big one too because this will tell us how much she has grown which is important because if she hasn't grown like they want her to they will put me in the hospital! It has been nice to just enjoy a weekend with a little good news and almost pretend like this was a normal pregnancy but it's back to reality now. All we can do is keep praying and keep faith that we will make it through this! We hope everyone had a great Independence Day!

Nisee is 19 months old TODAY!!!
Today Nisee Turned 19 Months old! I snapped a few pictures this morning and Chad shot this video this evening! Shes growing so fast. Shes no longer our baby anymore shes becoming a little girl!

Nisee Birth to 30 Days
Birth: Nisee was 7.5 lbs 20.5 inches log. She is so beautiful and loves to wiggle and make noise! We call her the squeaker and the wiggler. I kept trying to get them to call her the squiggler but well that didn't stick.
2 weeks: Nisee was 6.12 lbs and is 20.5 inches long. She had lost too much weight at 2 weeks so she was put on formula and breast milk combo. She started gaining and when we went back 4 days later she was up to 7.3 lbs which made the doctors very happy. She also started sleeping better and smiling more.
3 weeks: Nisee is 7.13 lbs. This was a weight check up to make sure she was still gaining weight.
