So I went for my weight in Friday the 13th! Yea I know a great day to go weigh in! I am happy to report that I lost 6 pounds! It was 1 pound less than my home scales but oh well I guess that's clothes for ya! LOL I was hoping for 8 pounds but I ended up a little below but a loss still gets me closer to my goal and now I only have 66 more to go!
This also puts me closer to my 2nd goal. Of the 6 pounds that I lost 2 of those were my Christmas goal but the other 4 are towards my Birthday goal! I also am happy to report that since my weigh in (per my home scale) I am showing down 5 more pounds! This means I only have 5 more to go to get to my Birthday goal and I have 17 days until the big 3-0, which should be plenty of time to lose the other 5! Maybe I will be able to surpass it!

Baby Shower Cake Balls and Butter Mints
In addition to the diaper cake I was also asked to make cake balls for the shower and I offered to make homemade butter mints. The cake balls were orange supreme flavored cake with cream cheese whipped icing dipped in white chocolate. Kari picked out the orange supreme flavor and I wasn't sure at first but they were actually really good! I used the butter mints recipe that my mother in law Mary gave me. She used it to make butter mints for Lacee's baby shower and they were a huge hit. I tried to make them once before and they turned out alright but not as good as I wanted. This time however they turned out great! I was very happy with them and they looked GREAT! Everyone at the shower loved both the cake balls and the butter mints!

Monkey Diaper Cake
Sorry it has taken me so long to get this post up! I have been really busy here lately and extra tired but it has only been 1 week so not too bad! As I mentioned in my last post about diaper cakes I was asked to make a monkey themed on for a friends nieces shower. Now with these cakes you can get really expensive depending on what all you put in them so we decided on a budget of $30 in the cake and I decided that I would add $10 toward the cake myself as my gift to the mommy to be. The cake is simple because that is how I wanted it. Sometimes simple is much better than having so much going on! Anyways Hope, Megan, and Kari loved it and I was happy to be a part of a day she is sure to never forget!

Exercise 1/9/2012
I enjoyed my weekend off from exercise. The plan was not to exercise Friday but I ended up running around so much I ended up meeting my target anyways. Then Saturday it was just me and the girls and then a birthday party so I ended up going over that day too! So Sunday ended up being my lazy day! Today it was back to the grind! I did 45 minutes on the treadmill. It was a mix of running and walking. I probably ran for about 10 mins and walked the other 35. I wasn't tracking it. I just start running and stop when I can't go no more and then I walk until I feel like running again. My feet hurt today though. I think it was my shoes though!

Diaper Cakes
When my sister Tara and my friend Stephanie threw me a baby shower for Nisee I had only seen diaper cakes but I had never even considered making one. Tara made one for Nisee and it was super cute and she said it wasn't that hard to make. So as I was taking it apart to use the diapers I took note of what she had done.
Then a friend at work was having a baby and I decided to try my hand at making her a diaper cake. I was very happy with how it turned out. I put some oneises rolled up in there as well for an additional gift and put a bottle washer and rattle to finish it off!
I enjoyed making it and I got so many complements that I decided to make another one for a friends shower but this time it was for a baby boy! I had known the dad as he was my neighbor growing up and he loved hunting and fishing so I had to bring that into the cake with camo ribbon! This time I added more clothing but still kept the other items as well! I had some bigger clothing so I placed it in the center of some of the tiers.
My sister made one for Lacee's shower as well and I loved it. It was smaller than Nisee's but had a lot more stuff in it.
So why am I posting this now ... well because I have been asked to make one for a friends nieces shower. I am excited because I like to make them and it has been a while since I made one. I am going to start working on it today. This is for a boy and her theme is monkeys! I am excited to make it.
My friend Nicole made a diaper cake for her sisters shower and I want to try this really bad. She just followed a tutorial online and I found the same one so I am going to try it soon! I am not doing it for this next shower because I don't want to risk messing it up. But here is the picture of that cake.
My friend Chessney also makes diaper cakes and she can do the ones in shapes of animals and stuff! She does a great job too! She made this one for my best friend aka her older sister's baby shower.
Well I am excited and ready to make this cake! I will post pictures when I complete it!

Workout Pics!
Taking a cue from a friend I am going to be posting my work out pics on here. I will be taking pics of the screens of the machines when I work out. I have enabled my blog to show these posts and of course they will go under my weight loss journey! I will be post my photos from this past weeks Tuesday and Thursday work outs! I didn't get everything together at my mini gym until Tuesday so that is when I started. I also worked out for 25 minutes on the treadmill Wednesday but then I had to go the store for diapers because I accidentally took all ours to the daycare! My screen was cleared when I got back thanks to our little explorer princess: Nisee!
